PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Trans Final Drive SAE 60 has been formulated to meet the special requirements of final drives and axles that currently specify the use of Caterpillar FD-1™ type oils, that is applications requiring Caterpillar TO4™ oils and that do not contain friction material.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Trans Final Drive SAE 60 is suitable for use in final drives, axles, differentials and drive wheels of equipment where Caterpillar FD-1™ performance fluid is specified such as heavy-duty off-highway haul trucks and wheeled and track-type tractors.
Unlike conventional fluids meeting Caterpillar TO-4™ type performance, Trans Final Drive SAE 60 is generally not suitable for powershift transmissions or for oil-immersed brakes or clutches due to different frictional characteristics. Trans SAE 10W, SAE 30 or SAE 50 should be considered for Caterpillar powershift transmissions, hydraulics and wet brake applications requiring Caterpillar TO-4™ type lubrication.
